The Government of Liberia through the Liberia Water &Sewer Corporation LWSC) has signed an MOU with two Italian Companies PSC Srl Engineering and Contracting company and EUROGEO SRL for the Purpose of seeking grant for Project implementation.

According to a dispatch from Brussels, PSC S.r.l. Engineering & Contracting (PSC), has been contacted by the LWSC to assist in promoting and developing Infrastructure project in the fields of Water and Sanitation in Liberia and whereas the company has     agreed to assist in the promotion and development of infrastructure projects in Liberia. The Memorandum of Understanding is aimed at defining the terms and conditions of cooperation between the Parties and obtaining financial resources to perform the job of ‘Design, Engineering, Manufacture, Assembly, Inspection, Testing & Supply Of 11 (Eleven) Mobile Potable Water Unit – 5000 M3/Day’ – Estimated at 24 Million Euro.  Whereas, EUROGEO SRL has been contacted to source resources and financing for the developing of infrastructure projects in the field of sanitary and drinkable water project (Drilling of 350 wells for urbans and/or primitive urbans towns- Estimated at 20 million Euros) respectively.

During the Signing ceremony, Amb Dr. Isaac W. Nyenabo, Liberia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Benelux and the European Union welcomed the Investors at the Chancery of Liberia where negotiations have been ongoing from the inception, he said, Liberia is in need for several opportunities in keeping with the Pro-Poor Agenda for prosperity; water and Sanitation are key among them.

For his part, Mr. Dario Zucchi CEO, PSC SRL ENGINEERING AND CONTRACTING, Extended his best regards to H.E, President George Manneh Weah for his successful election and his vision to transform Liberia, He said , The purpose of the MOU is to assist LWSC in obtaining financing by promoting and developing Infrastructure project in the fields of Water and Sanitation as well as Testing & Supply Of 11 (Eleven) Mobile Potable Water Unit.

Signing on behalf of the Government of Liberia through the Liberia Water &Sewer Corporation LWSC), Hon. Duannah A. Kamara, Managing Director/LWSC thank H.E Amb. Isaac W. Nyenabo II, Liberia’s Ambassador to the BENELUX and the European Union for the Initiative and his tireless effort in negotiating with the companies. He, however, elaborated on the current constraint faced by the country and lamented the gains made under the stewardship of H.E President in addressing the challenges.

Hon Duannah Kamara is accompanied by Hon. Moseray Momoh, Deputy Managing Director Liberia Water &Sewer Corporation LWSC). It can be recalled that On March 20, 2019, the University of Liberia received 649 Textbooks donated by the Tilburg University of the Kingdom of The Netherlands along with an ongoing scholarship at the same University which was also negotiated through the Embassy of Liberia to the BENELUX.
